Phoenix Contact has released its PV-Set DC, PV-Set DC/AC and PV-Set Multistring pre-assembled surge protection sets for the solar photovoltaic (PV) industry. These surge arresters have temperature-monitored, high-capacity varistors with optical fault warning and dynamic disconnect device. The PV sets are pre-assembled protection solutions in IP65 installation housing.

The PV-Set DC and PV-SET Multistring offer surge protection on the PV generator side only. They are designed for small-scale systems with a solar string or PV systems with several solar strings. PV-Set DC/AC is said to protect all power lines in the system, including both the PV generator side and the power supply. Since this pre-assembled surge arrestor protects the DC input and the AC outputs from surge voltages, it provides protection to an inverter. |
